She is known in history for becoming the first female pilot of the Mexican Air Force.
Before 2007, women could only join the armed forces as nursing specialists, dentistry or medicine.
On January 27, 2009, she became the first Mexican military pilot to fly an airplane, after making a 30-minute flight aboard the Bonanza F33-C aircraft, registration EBA 64-31. To differentiate her from her peers, she received the distinctive "Venus" medal from her superiors. She graduated in 2011.
