The name is Frida inspired by Frida Kahlo who was actually called Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo Calderón, she was the daughter of a German photographer named Guillermo Kahlo and his wife, Matilde Calderón.During her childhood, Frida got many diseases and had several accidents. The first illness she had was polio, which left one leg thinner than the other and also forced her to stay in bed for nine months and undergo many operations. Her father tried at that time to encourage her to do sports such as soccer and boxing. Frida was very fond of her father, who accompanied her to the hospital and rehabilitation and her younger sister Cristina who she was very fond of.In 1922 she attended the National Preparatory School, where they had begun to admit women. There she joined a group called "Los Cachuchas", students from the same school who wanted to change the school and political system of Mexico with their new ideas and their thinking. In 1925 Frida had an accident, and the bus she was traveling on was run over by a trolley car. She had so many injuries that she had to undergo a total of 32 operations that left her bedridden for many years in a hospital, during which time she began to paint pictures to express the pain she felt and that she was alone. In 1929 she married the muralist Diego Rivera. Diego admired Frida's paintings and encouraged her to continue painting, while she also admired his murals and gave her opinion. In 1953, Frida decided to do an exhibition in Mexico, at the Contemporary Art Gallery. By then, Frida was very weak and in very poor health, so the doctors forbade her to attend, but she attended anyway, entering the gallery by ambulance, telling jokes and having fun.Her workstyle was realistic and at the same time symbolic. Of a total of 143 works, 55 of her paintings are self-portraits. The pictures that Frida painted expressed her pain, her feelings and her ideology. She painted about passages and situations in her life, trying to draw them on canvas. Her works of art were actually like her autobiography, and were based mostly on typical Mexican customs.Although she was very famous in life, she was recognized worldwide after her death and her fame has been increasing ever since.
